Le Guen: ‘No luck’

Reactions | 2009-05-03 | 19:50

Paul Le Guen, Guy Lacombe and Zoumana Camara look back at PSG’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Rennes at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.

Paul Le Guen (Paris Saint-Germain Coach)
“The result is clearly disappointing considering the chance we had tonight. We created a lot of good chances, but we were wasteful in front of goal and we were also up against a very good ‘keeper. Over the two games against Rennes this season, we’ve had no luck. We certainly lack some things in our play, but motivation is not a thing I would accuse the players of missing. We didn’t get the result tonight, but we have to keep fighting, we have to show our real character and lift ourselves for the next games.”

Guy Lacombe (Rennes coach)
“We had a big slice of luck, that’s the story of this game. Tonight, I didn’t see the same motivation in the Parisian players as that of Bordeaux on Wednesday, even if Stéphane Sessegnon caused us plenty of headaches. Paris have had a really great season. If they’d scored first this evening, they would have won. It was just one of those things.”

Zoumana Camara (PSG defender)
“We’ve had a good season, but each time there’s a turning point in the campaign, we’ve let the opportunity slip. The games that could have seen us take the next step, we haven’t been able to win. This afternoon, the desire was there, we had chances and we were determined, but we still only have ourselves to blame. In some respects, we’re where we deserve to be, and that’s that.”
