Exclusive to PSG.FR, the Paris coach takes a look back at the precious point won in Lyon before discussing the next match at the Parc against Rennes as well as the return of Loris Arnaud.
Paul, the point Paris won in Lyon has kept you in the running…“We’re still within range. We’re in fourth place, which is a good position to be in with five matches to go. We hope to hang on to our position or even improve it. Anything can happen, there are many possibilities. But we still need to maintain the gap ahead of Toulouse.”
How are you approaching the visit of Rennes next Sunday?
“We’ll be well prepared. We’ve had two days to rest after the match in Lyon. It was a chance to have a different kind of weekend, having played on the Friday. Now we need to get back to work. And look after our injured players too, because we’ll need the whole squad for the last games of the season.”
What do you make of this Rennes side?
“Rennes is a very athletic side, a good side with a balance of youth and experience. They’ve hardly lost any matches this season. But we’re hoping they’ll have one eye on the their French Cup final at the Stade de France.”
Loris Arnaud made his comeback in the CFA on Saturday. It must have done him a lot of good to get back on the field…
“I’m really pleased because he’s done a lot of hard work. He really stuck at it. I’m also very happy with the medical staff because they really took care of him. Things are going as planned. He needs to get his confidence back and play four or five matches in May. He needs to keep working throughout June and not take any holidays in order to be fully fit and ready for the beginning of next season.”
