Le Guen: ‘Get back in the championship race’

Paris Saint-Germain coach Paul Le Guen, Mickaël Landreau and Sylvain Armand look back at PSG’s UEFA Cup elimination at the hands of quarter-final rivals Dynamo Kiev...

Paul Le Guen (PSG coach)
“We had a very tough start to the game and we just couldn’t hold out, we had no answers. Even down 2-0 we could still have gotten out of jail. A goal could have unsettled them but, despite all our chances, we couldn’t get that crucial goal. We have to do everything we can on Sunday to fix that and get back in the championship race. If we can, then our final matches of the season will be great games to play in.”

Mickaël Landreau (PSG goalkeeper)
“We lost 3-0 and obviously that’s a huge disappointment. We conceded the first goal from the outset and a third goal at the worst possible time. We were up against a very good side, a real ‘team’, especially on home soil and they have a huge potential. For their second goal, the ball went very high and moving around a lot. Sometimes you have nights like this...”

Sylvain Armand (PSG defender)
“We were up against a very good team and that’s football. At one-nil down, we still believed. It wasn’t the first goal that caused us the most harm. We still needed to score. We made too many mistakes, but on a positive note, we never gave up either.”
