Paul Le Guen (PSG coach)
“I knew Lorient were going to push hard in the second half because they looked good in the first half. They created a fair few chances. I was worried about how we’d go after the midweek game, because even if we lost, we still played 120 minute. They were more or less the same players out on the pitch, so there were some very tired legs out there. I’m happy with the players efforts, the courage and the spirit they showed to get this result. We would have preferred to score a second goal to make the game safe, but their ‘keeper Audard was very good.”

Mickaël Landreau (PSG goalkeeper)
“Of course we wanted to get this win badly. We could see at times that we were pretty tired. We could have finished the game off earlier. Marseille were held and Toulouse defeated Bordeaux, which is all good for us. We knew we had to get the points against Lorient because their are a lot of teams still battling for their Ligue 1 survival. We also needed to bounce back from the French Cup loss and confirm our place near the top of the standings. As a goalkeeper, is always satisfying to keep a clean sheet. Some games make you work harder than others, but the important thing is that the team wins. This win was essential.”

Ludovic Giuly (PSG attacker)
“Yes, we suffered at times, but it’s good to win games like this. We’ve got Braga this Thursday in the UEFA Cup and then Marseille next Sunday. We’ll enjoy this win for a couple of days and then get back to work. We wanted the three points and we got them thanks to a very gutsy performance.”
