Basketball fans Zoumana Camara and Guillaume Hoarau caught up with Vince Carter at the Parc des Princes, on Tuesday. Visiting Paris, the NBA star took the opportunity to drop into le Parc and meet its stars…
On the turf of the Parc des Princes, the three sportsmen enjoyed a chat before exchanging the jerseys of their respective teams. The New Jersey Nets player then followed his hosts inside for a tour of the changing-rooms.
Guillaume Hoarau:
“Vince Carter is my favourite player, so when I heard he coming, I simply had to be here. On the island of Réunion, I played football and basketball and my brother is a basketball player… It’s amazing to meet such a great player.”
Zoumana Camara:
“It’s an honour. Everyone remembers his unbelievable slam dunk against France at the Olympic Games. It’s great that he’s come to France. He’s come to visit his fans in Europe, which shows he really cares. In a couple of months he’ll be playing against Miami here (on October 9) and I hope we’ll be able to come and see.”
Vince Carter:
“This is my first visit to a football stadium. It’s huge! I’m more used to the NBA courts. I wanted to meet some of the stars of the club because I’ve got a lot of respect for what they do, and the sport in general. I’ve seen a few games on television, but never live in the stadium. I hope I’ll have the chance to come and watch a game here when I come back to France in October.
