September 7, 2008, marks the start of the 9th Danone Cup, bringing together children between the ages of 10 and 12 years of age, from 40 different countries, and all under the proud gaze of legend Zinedine Zidane…
For the last seven months, across five continents, local sides have been involved in qualifying matches and regional finals series to find a team worthy of flying the country’s flag in the world finals in Paris. With 40 teams, from the world over, taking part, the Danone Nations Cup is making its grand return to the Parc des Princes for four days packed with emotions.
One of Europe’s traditional giants and a continental benchmark in the nurturing of young footballing talent, Paris Saint-Germain is once again partnering one of the world’s major youth competitions. This ninth edition of the Danone Nations Cup looks to build on the event’s notoriety (more than eight million fans worldwide) and highlights the confidence which exists between Danone, PSG and the City of Paris to further enhance this sporting, cultural and charity-based event. On Sunday, September 7, each and every team will play at least once in front of the public at the Parc des Princes. The day will determine the final rankings from the first to the 40th place.
