Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 Bordeaux

Match Report | 2010-04-10 | 23:00

PSG defeated defending champions Bordeaux 3-1 thanks to a superb team performance capped off with goals to Sylvain Armand (35’), Mevlut Erding (74’) and Guillaume Hoarau (86’) and the lot in front of a packed Parc des Princes crowd...

After beating Sochaux 4-1 and Boulogne 3-0, PSG are clearly in irresistible at home at the minute and confirmed their return to form with a 3-1 victory over the Champions League quarter-finalists.

The Parisians were the first onto the front foot with Stéphane Sessegnon (10’), Ludovic Giuly (19’) and Erding (34’) trying their luck without success while Gouffran (21’), Wendel (27’) and Gourcuff (28’) couldn’t catch out the excellent Apoula Edel – urged on by the home fans.

The turning point came just minutes later when Ramé handled outside his area and the penalty was immediate: red card (30’)! To make matters worse for the visitors, Armand thumped home the resulting free-kick from the edge of the area(1-0, 35’). The match flowed from end to end but it was Erding that made the break after finding space on the edge of the area before thumping home a powerful finish (2-0, 74’). Sané pulled a goal back for the champions (2-1, 80’), but it was the Parisians that would have the last word.

Hoarau’s header ending the match as a contest (3-1, 86’) and helping the capital club prepare in the possible way for their French Cup semi-final against giant-killer Quevilly in Caen on Wednesday.
