Les Parisiens salvaged a point with a determined and courageous display against Lens on Suaturday, thanks to a Stéphane Sessegnon goal deep in stoppage time.
A goal that feels good! Just seconds before the final whistle, PSG earned a last chance free-kick, centrally positioned on the edge of the area. Sankharé took charge and saw his effort heading for the back of the net until a fabulous stop from Runje. Sessegnon was then on hand to slam the ball home (1-1, 90+4’)! Paris equalise with a late, late show.
Yet the evening began timidly for both sides. Jemaa carved out Lens’ only two chances in the first half (8’, 38’) but found himself up against an excellent Edel. For their part, Les Parisiens enjoyed the best opportunities of the opening period thanks to Sessegnon (32’) and Erding. First of all, the Turkey international was unbalanced in the area, but the referee didn’t blow for the penalty (30’) and then, just before the break, the PSG no.11 hit the crossbar from a Sessegnon cross (44’). After the break, Les Sang et Or picked up the tempo and Eduardo (61’) and Hermach (66’) went within a whisker of opening the scoring. In the end it was Roudet who slammed home the opener via a deflection off Jallet (68’, 1-0). Down but not out, Antoine Kombouaré’s charges fought back through Camara, who thought he’d equalised only to be flagged off side.

In the end the capital club salvaged a share of the spoils. Suspended against OM last weekend, Sessegnon made a great return to action with the goal in stoppage time. PSG can now focus on next weekend’s visit of Sochaux, on Saturday at 19:00, to get back to winning ways.
