PSG are competing in northern Portugal this weekend against Vitoria Guimaraes and Benfica. In their first outing against Guimaraes, third in last season’s Portuguese league, PSG’s young guard, with a few experienced heads, went down 2-1. Behind on the score-sheet from the 29th minute and Douglas’ close-range header, PSG fought back immediately through Boli. The Parisian striker broke down the left before crossing for Sankharé who in turn found Ngoyi in his path and the chance went begging (35’).
The start of the second half was hard on PSG. The Parisians were caught cold by Garcia who beat Edel and re-established the home side’s lead (2-1, 52’). But PSG again bounced back. Mabiala’s header finished off some brilliant play from Sankharé (1-2, 56’). The match ended with penalties in case all three teams should finish level on points at the end of the tournament. PSG taking out the sudden death exercise 4-3. On Saturday, at 22:15, Paris-SG take on Benfica, with a starting XI which could resemble that which will start the domestic championship against Monaco next weekend. Saturday’s friendly can be seen live in France on W9 and PSG.FR!
