Speaking to French media, Maxwell talked about his future in the French capital where he has spent five glorious seasons.
Irreproachable on and off the pitch and adored by his team-mates, Maxwell talked about his personality: "I'm very shy, discreet. It's my character. And perhaps when you play in my position, you're a little out of the spotlight. But all the players have their importance on the pitch."
The Brazilian full-back also spoke about the season that will finish with the league match against Caen at the Parc des Princes on Saturday: "Monaco have been very strong and very consistent. You have to congratulate them. But I think our start to the season penalised us. What hurt us most was the defeat in Barcelona. It still hurts today. But we have to deal with it and move forward."
Maxwell also answered with characteristic honesty when asked about his contract, which expires this summer: "I'm talking with the club about my future, but nothing has been decided. I could retire, it's a possibility. But first I have to talk to the club."
He also spoke about Thiago Motta, who is in the same position: "Thiago Motta is in the same contractual situation as me and I hope he'll continue helping Paris Saint-Germain. He's important on and off the pitch."
