The French side were in complete control of the opening 45 minutes and enjoyed several good chances to open the scoring at the Mini Estadi. Cristiane had a good chance when she latched onto a cross from the left, but failed to hit the target (10'). Just before the break, the competition's all-time leading scorer Anja Mittag, broke down the right and crossed, only for Panos to save in front of Shirley Cruz (45+1').

While the home side showed more ambition in the second half, Erika's experience and Hamraoui's control in midfield saw Les Rouge et Bleu remain in control. Mittag went close to opening the scoring with a stunning volley that flashed just wide of the top corner (65'). Marie-Laure Délie had the last chance to snare an away goal when she headed just wide of the goal after a fine team move (89').

The Parisians can have a few regrets that they return from Barcelona with a share of the spoils, such was their dominance. However the scoreless away draw still means Farid Benstiti's side have the upper hand heading into the return leg at the Stade Charléty next Wednesday.
