The first of Paris' World Cup stars are back! Just under a month after their World Cup adventure ended, Paris Saint-Germain's three Italians Salvatore Sirigu, Marco Verratti and Thiago Motta were back at the Ooredoo Training Centre on Monday morning. Uruguayan Edinson Cavani and the French World Cup stars will join up with the rest of the squad for the 2014 Asia Summer Tour.

The other squad members were quick to greet the returning trio shortly before 10am. There were some nice scenes, starting with the genuine joy of the experienced Zoumana Camara meeting the youngster Marco Verratti. Then it was straight to the restaurant where the players continued to catch up over breakfast.

But if they had any doubts, at 11:00, the Italians got confirmation that the holidays were well and truly over. Laurent Blanc and his coaching staff were waiting on the pitch for a double session. The midfielders Verratti and Motta joined the rest of the outfield players for a session that started with a series of exercises and drills and ended with a small-sided game.

It was a very different session for the goalkeepers and Salvatore Sirigu who started with a run through the forest of Saint-Germain-en-Laye alongside fitness coach Denis Lefebve. Another of the new arrivals, Zlatan Ibrahimovic continued his preseason. After playing the first half against RB Leipzig on Friday, the Swedish star enjoyed the drills put in place by fitness coach Simon Colinet.

The next friendly outing for Les Parisiens is this Wednesday, at the Stade de la Méditerranée in Béziers against OGC Nice. You can follow all the action on the club's media, and in France on beIN SPORTS 2 from 19:00 CET.
