Christophe, the match of the round will be at the Parc des Princes on Saturday. How are preparations for the game going?
"Pretty well, and with a few less players due to the international break. A smaller squad means we can work also work well, with some good sessions to be ready to go against Rennes. Les Rennais will be coming to the Parc with plenty of ambition, they are on a good run [of two straight wins] and will be very hard to beat, that's for sure."
You know some of the Rennes players well, including a certain Mevlüt Erding…
"Yes, of course, and I also know Julien Féret, who I played with at Niort. Just like his team, Mevlüt is in top form at the moment. He's scoring in practically every game and we're very happy for him but I hope he has a quiet one against us on Saturday. And then he can keep going afterwards."
Italy versus France in a couple of hours is another big game... Will you be watching?
"I'm expecting a great game against a great opponent. Of course I'll be watching my France teammates, even if I'd prefer to be out there with them. Unfortunately, my injury prevents me. I'll be a very keen viewer as a Frenchman, I hope we'll be able to rib our Italian club teammates on Thursday at the Camp des Loges…"
Was there a bit of banter pre-match?
"Not too much actually. Everyone took up their position, but there wasn't too much carry one because it's actually a very even match on paper, even if they may have a little advantage given their final in the Euros. But for me, we have every chance of getting one over them and I'm sure my teammates will ensure that is the case!"
It may be a friendly match, but it's a great chance for les Bleus to shine...
"Absolutely, especially after our great performance against Spain, I hope this game will see us continue on this positive series and keep this good image growing of the team. Even in a friendly, it's important to get results, ahead of these next qualifiers for the 2014 World Cup. To finish 2012 on a high note would bode well for the future."
