Ancelotti: 'We will be ready'
Carlo Ancelotti, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Sylvain Armand and Blaise Matuidi spoke to PSG.fr moments after the 1-1 draw against DC United.
Carlo Ancelotti (Paris Saint-Germain coach):
"We played well and deserved to win. The weather conditions made it something of a strange game. We were also up against a side who were in perfect physical condition. We did a lot of running and that's a very good thing in terms of our preparation for the new season. July has been a very good month for the team and I think the next ten days will be too! We will be ready for the start of the championship. Zlatan made a fantastic start to the match with a very good goal too."
Zlatan Ibrahimović (Paris Saint-Germain forward):
"I feel really good! It was a good game and a very nice goal. I'm very happy. Physically, I'm not 100 per cent and I'll keep working hard to get back in top form. This is only the start…"
Sylvain Armand (Paris Saint-Germain defender):
"This has been a very positive training camp. We've worked hard and got to know each other as well. We have played two quality friendly matches and we still have ten days left to fine tune our pre-season qualities. Even if we didn't win tonight, we played well against a team that also played some good football. We had some clear-cut chances to win it."
Blaise Matuidi (Paris Saint-Germain midfielder):
"We had chances to score, but we didn't take them all. We'll keep working with the aim of being ready for the opening game of the Ligue 1 season at home to Lorient on 11 August. That was a tough test for me. I was meant to play 30 minutes, but the injury to Clément Chantôme meant I played longer. I have to keep working hard at training to get back to full fitness and ready for the competition."
