Paris-SG secure late 2-2 draw
For their opening match of the 2012-13 Ligue 1 season, Paris Saint-Germain, trailing 2-0 at half-time, stormed home to snatch a thrilling 2-2 draw, thanks to a second-half brace from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Just a week after the prestigious pre-season home friendly against Barça, the Parc des Pricnes provided the setting for the 2012-13 Ligue 1 season. And just like a week ago, against Messi and Co. it was important not to be late to the capital club's spectacular champion… Just seconds after a first Ezequiel Lavezzi raid into the Lorient penalty box (4'), Les Merlus launched a first counterattack. Monnet-Paquet broke down the left and crossed hard across the face of goal, only for the unfortunate Maxwell to turn the ball into his own net (0-1, 5')...
It signalled the start of a siege on Audard's goal, where Lavezzi (8'), then Ibrahimovic and then Alex, with a header (19'), all went close to equalising.

Like every year, for their annual visit to the capital, Christian Gourcuff's side sent shivers through the PSG faithful with their counterattacking football, but neither Jouffre (28'), nor Traoré (30) could double the advantage.
In the final ten minutes of the first half the Lavezzi-Ibra duo is again denied by the inspired Audard (35').
The half-time break was just seconds away and Douchez appeared to have kept his side in the game with a great save to deny Traoré's free-kick.
But no! With the last passage of play of the half, with another devastating counterattack, Aliadière sliced through the PSG defence before firing passed Douchez to give Lorient a two-goal lead at the break (0-2, 45+3').
At half-time the analysis was brief: Paris dominate, but Les Merlus take their chances.
After the half-time interval, PSG started again from zero. The fans in the Parc des Princes didn't know at the time, but they were about to witness 45 minutes of one-way traffic for Les Rouge et Bleu.
Wave after wave of Parisian attack bombarded Audard's goal. Ibra (49'), Lavezzi (50') and Alex (53') all had chances to claw the capital club back into the game.
And when a flowing PSG attack ended with Ibrahimovic's first time shot smashing against the post, it looked as though it just wasn't going to be PSG's night...

Except that PSG has a host of world class players. The proof arrived with 25 minutes left to play. Nene picked out Ibrahimovic who out-muscled Bourillon to control on the chest and then fire past Audard (1-2, 64')!
After scoring in his first league match with Juventus, Inter Milan and Barcelona, the giant Swedish striker did it again with Paris-SG!
The Paris Saint-Germain players produced a grand stand finish. Chantôme though he'd given the Parc more reason to cheer, only to see the goal ruled out for off-side (84'). Gameiro didn't have any more luck against his former club (85')... Ibrahimovic with another header (85')... then Nene (85')…
But it wasn't over yet! Gameiro played the ball into the onrushing Matuidi who was brought down by Bourillon in the area. The referee, Mr. Chapron didn't hesitate: Penalty and a red card for the former PSG defender (88').
Ibra took charge of the rest. The Parisian No.18 beat Audard with a powerful shot into the bottom left hand corner to equalise (2-2, 89')! A fourth goal in just three outings with his new club - but more importantly a share of the spoils in the first Ligue 1 home match of the season for his team.
Outplayed in the first half, Paris Saint-Germain showed they also have the character and the pride to fight this season. Still finding their feet, Carlo Ancelotti's side got better and better with each passing minute in the second half. They need to go on with it now, next week, on the Ile de Beauté, Corsica, against AC Ajaccio…
