Siaka, you’ve been linked with PSG for the last few months but now that it’s actually happened, how do you feel?
I’m over the moon! I’m immensely proud to have signed for such a big club as PSG. A lot has been said over the past few months so I’m just happy that now it’s all finally come together. The sporting challenge is exciting and I aim on giving it absolutely everything for my new colours. I hope to impose myself here and win a place in the starting XI. It won’t be easy because there are a number of talented players in the squad.
You also join up again with Antoine Kombouaré, who you worked with during the 2008/09 season at Valenciennes…
Everything went very well when I played under him. He’s a very demanding coach and asks a lot of his players, but he gives a lot too. I really like the way he’s always honest with his players. He also has a very strong character... when he loses his temper it can be pretty frightening (laughter)! But that’s a good thing because his only goal is to get the most out of his players.

Do you already know any of the PSG squad?
I know Stéphane (Sessegnon) very well because he’s of Ivorian origin, even if he plays for Benin. I also played with Papus (Camara) for Saint-Etienne (2005/06). As for the others, I’ll get to know them all in time.
What do you think of the 2010-11 PSG squad?
It’s a very strong squad. It’s a very attacking team that knows how to play good football. I’ve watched their matches so far and they have a huge potential across the board. I don’t see what can stop us from being near the top of the table. I’m also going to be playing in Europe this year. I really can’t wait!!
