Mateja, how’s your back?
“Today, I feel good (talking French). I trained normally with a bit of shooting practice. I think the back was sore due to fatigue – I slept badly one night. A good massage, some good treatment and everything’s fine.”

You were voted player of the month by the internet users on PSG.FR. Was that nice?
“I’m going to start talking in English now, to answer you properly. Obviously I am very happy because it’s very important to me and gives me confidence. It proves that the hard work is baring fruit. To be liked by the supporters, that’s the best for a player. The fans love this club and it’s important that they see us defending the clolours.”

Were you disappointed to be back on the bench after starting against Boulogne?
“Of course I was disappointed to be a sub against Auxerre, but that’s the way it goes. You have to fight to earn your spot. At any rate, I’m happy I was able to convince the coach to give me a go and I hope to get more playing time in the coming weeks.”

Did you watch Bordeaux versus Lyon on Wednesday?
“Absolutely. It was a great game to watch with lots of pace and skill. It was the type of game I enjoy. Bordeaux produced a great performance and had some great chances to go through. Especially that last header from Wendel, which drew that incredible save from Lloris. But the elimination could weaken them mentally and give us a slight advantage for Saturday.”

On Saturday, you’ll be playing in front of your fans again for the first time in nearly a month...
“Yes, at last! It’s so sad to be playing in empty grounds. That’s not football. Already against Auxerre it was strange to be playing in front of their fans! I’m delighted to have that fantastic atmosphere inside the Parc des Princes again. I’m sure our fans will be in fine voice because we’ve won our last two games at home. That would be good.”
