Granddi, was the win over Sochaux a big boost for squad morale?
“Obviously that it’s great to win, especially at the Parc des Princes. Now the game against Nice is important to keep gaining in confidence. But at any rate, the squad is feeling good.”

You came on as a late substitute against Sochaux. How did you feel?
“It’s been a while that I haven’t played. It always feels good to play and get out on the pitch. I hope we keep working hard and that I’ll have more chances to play.”

You also played for the reserves the day after the Sochaux game...
“I played the whole game against Balma. It was a good match. The team had been drawing a lot and we managed to win 1-0, so we were very happy. It was important to win. On a personal level, it was also a chance to keep up a bit of rhythm, even if it’s not the same standard. It’s still competitive football. It was great to play a bit.”

How are the preparations for the Nice match going?
“We’re working hard. We worked well today and we’re getting ready for the Nice trip. We not that it will be a fairly unusual trip because it will be in an empty stadium, but we’re looking for the points and to build up as much confidence as possible for the French Cup quarter-final against Auxerre next Tuesday.”

Playing an away match in an empty stadium could be considered an advantage, couldn’t it?
“When we’re out on the pitch, you don’t really pay attention to all that. It could be an advantage. Les Niçois won’t have their fans behind them. I hope we have a good game and seize the opportunity to climb up the standings.”

What do you think of this Nice side?
“It’s been a tough season for Nice. They’ve lost their coach (Eric Roy replaced Didier Ollé-Nicolle last week). Didier Ollé-Nicolle was my coach last season at Clermont (Granddi was loaned out by PSG). He is a very good coach. They have some good individuals. We learnt that sure enough in the first meeting this season. They scored on a counterattack and we’ll have to be careful. But we’ve got a solid squad to take on this Nice side.”
