Antoine Kombouaré talks about Saturday’s visit of Sochaux and looks back at PSG’s 2010...
Coach, what are you expecting from you team against Sochaux?“The win. We got a point against Lens (1-1), and it wasn’t easy, but I liked the fight we showed. Mentally we were very strong. It’s a good point that we need to build on against Sochaux with another three points. The players are feeling good. They want to produce a big performance. The team wants to bounce back. Now we need to go and do it, starting on Saturday. The start of 2010 has been tough. Did you ever feel your squad was going to throw in the towel?
“Never. I work with the players every day. I talk to them as a team and as individuals. Above all, even if the results haven’t been there, the players have shown the desire to keep fighting every day. But it’s true that we continue to make the mistakes that cost us in matches. As soon as we concede a goal, it gets very hard for us. That’s why the reaction against Lens was so encouraging. We were capable of fighting back and that’s a good thing.”

What’s the aim for the end of season?
“To earn as many points as possible. That starts with a win on Saturday followed by the trip to Nice. We need to lift our heads, give a better showing of ourselves and climb back up the standings. For the next two games, we’re going to try and prepare for our French Cup quarter-finals against Auxerre – who are, today, a really good team.”
