Mevlut, do you think PSG can still play for something this season Ligue 1?
“We’re taking the matches one after the other, so we’re not thinking about what we can ultimately achieve this season, but rather the next game. We’ve got two important matches coming up, against Toulouse and Marseille. We’re coming off a win and a draw. We’ll try and keep this good run going with a good result against Toulouse. It’s important for our fans to see us win at home.”

Are you a little apprehensive about returning to the Parc des Princes?
“We’re in control of our destiny. If we show that we have the desire, the motivation, I think the fans will get right behind us.”

The game against Toulouse is also a chance for you to catch up with your friend Colin Kazim-Richards?
“Kazim is a friend of mine from the national team. We hang out a lot together when we’re on international duty and we’re roommates. He’s an incredible player with amazing qualities. I don’t know whether he’ll be able to show his full potential here in France because the championship is very tough. But at any rate, he’s amazing on the pitch as a player, and off the pitch as a person.”

We’re you expecting such a tough season after the great start PSG made?
“No, especially after our first few games. I’ve also noticed that when we win a game, everyone says we’re the best, and when we lose, everyone says we’re the worst. I have the impression that not every club is treated in the same way. But the season isn’t over yet.”

How do you feel about your partnership with Guillaume Hoarau?
“We’re still learning to play together. We get on well off the pitch, so now we’re working to transfer that understanding to our play. Even if we haven’t played a lot together, I know how he plays and he knows how I play. It’s just a question of time.”
