PSG’s Brazilian defender Marcos Ceara talks about Thursday’s training before looking ahead to Sunday’s titanic Ligue 1 clash away to Olympique Lyonnais.

Marcos, how did training go today?
“It went really well. We have to work hard because we’re going through a rough patch. Only good old fashioned hard work will get us out of it. We played some little games and then did some physical work. That means we’ll be in top form for Sunday’s game against Lyon.”

The back to back defeats for Lyon this week could be an advantage for PSG?
“They’ve had a bad week, just like us. It’s going to be a great game and I hope we get the result. Lyon are a great opponent. We have the potential to get a get result there. Every game is different. We know we’re taking on a good team. We have to be ultra-focused because we need the points. That means getting a good result against Lyon. We need to do everything to win at the Stade Gerland.”

You have never won away to Lyon…
“I’ve played twice in Lyon, without ever getting the win. I hope we’ll win, but a draw will not be a bad result.”

PSG then play Lorient, Toulouse and Marseille. February promises to be a tricky month…
“We have to stay concentrated and take the games one after the other to get as many points as we can. We need the points. We need to climb up the standings. It doesn’t matter who we play. The main thing is to try and get a good result to attack February on a positive note.”

Jean-Eudes Maurice has organised a jersey auction to help out the victims in Haiti. Is it important to get involved in these types of movements?
“You can’t forget about people that are suffering. Haïti is in a difficult situation at present. Everyone in their own way can help. Not only in Haïti, but all over the world. It’s important to help out, be there for the victims.”
