“It was a big satisfaction and a big relief. I’m very proud of the way the players played because there was a lot of pressure on them. It was a very important match that we had to win at all costs because the other teams have been earning their points. I wanted to see a reaction from my troops and I got one. It was a very good game.” You said on the eve of the game that it was important that not only the strikers score the goals. Jérémy Clément and Clément Chantôme were both on the scoresheet which was also satisfying...
“Yes. Jérémy and Clément are both capable of scoring important goals. The two midfielders scored the first and second goals which saw us really get on the right track. Now I’m waiting for the defenders to get amongst the goals from set pieces. Everyone should be capable of scoring as long as we stay balanced and solid at the back. The negative from the Sochaux game is that we conceded that goal. We need to keep some cleansheets in the coming games. That’s another important factor that will see us improve further.”

PSG’s best results have come when Mevlut Erding has been on the park... what do you thing about that?
“The most important thing is that we win. Mevlut certainly brings something to the squad. It’s important because the team wins when he plays. He gives his teammates confidence, gives them a lot of strength and energy. He scares opposition defences, he’s dangerous and he scores goals.I hope we’ll also be able to win without him. We saw when he was injured. Everyone has to step up to cover the whole he leaves when he’s not there.” Like Sochaux, Nice on in form (4-1 v Lyon and 1-0 v Le Mans)...
“You can’t argue with the statistics. Today Nice are back in form and winning matches. They are a new team full of confidence. We’re going to have to be very strong and play very well. We’ve been keeping an eye on Nice, but I want to see my players perform and win. We desperately need the points to climb the table.” Are you impatient to get back to the Parc after a month on the road?
“The calendar has to be respected. We should have hosted Lens, but the France play-off came first. Now we’re preparing for Saturday’s game and want to win it. The fans want to see us play and we want to get a win for them after our last two games at the Parc (1-1 v Lyon and 1-1 v Nancy). We have to bounce back at home with a win. That will also see us build on the result against Sochaux. It’s a win at all costs. That’s what I expect from my players.” Get your ticket for PSG-Nice >>>
