Mevlut, this game against Sochaux is going to be a special moment in your career...
“Obviously. I’m a Sochaux youth product, I spent nine seasons there and learnt everything I know. It’s also my first game back after two months out and that’s also a good thing. I want to play well, especially because things aren’t going so well for us at the moment.”

Since you got injured at the end of August, PSG haven’t won. Have you been missed?
“That’s what I read in the media. I don’t know if it’s true or not... we’ll see on Sunday. I don’t think people expect me to be the saviour. One player can’t change everything. I’ll do everything to show what I’m capable of and I hope that will work for the team.”

With everything that’s happened to the club over the last week... will that be a handicap?
“I think so. A lot has been said about us this week and a lot of people will be watching us on Sunday. We have to win on Sunday, because we are PSG.”

Are you surprised by Sochaux’s good start to the season?
“Yes, especially since the accident involving Charlie Davies*. I thought that would have been a bid handicap. They’re coming off three wins on the trot and like last year, things are going better and better. Entertaining PSG is a big game for them. The stadium will be packed and the pressure will be on us, not them.”

* Sochaux’s American international striker Charlie Davies (17 caps, 4 goals) was involved in a fatal car accident in mid-October in the USA. He suffered multiple fractures to his right leg; left arm and face as well as a perforated bladder.
