Marcos, how is the squad feeling after the Monaco defeat?
“The loss wasn’t easy to take. We have to analyse what went wrong and fix the mistakes we made during the match. We started well and had plenty of chances to open the scoring. The latter stages were harder and we conceded two goals in the end. Now we have to think about Sunday’s match against Lyon. In football, time passes very quickly and each weekend we have the chance to make u for a loss.”

Will Stéphane Sessegnon’s suspension be a big handicap to the side?
“We’ll miss him a lot. Stéphane is a great attacking weapon. It’s up to the coach to find the best way to replace him. It’s a shame he was sent off. It’s not always easy to control yourself in these situations: you’re trailing 2-0 and there’s not enough time to equalise. But even without Stéphane, we’re going to have a big game against Lyon.”

Lyon have made a great start to the new season. Does that worry PSG?
“Each game is different. Everyone’s waiting to get this game with Lyon underway. I think we have what it takes to play well and get the win. Lyon are in form and have the points on the board but in a one-off match, anything could happen.”

How do you rate the start of your season, personally?
“Consistent! I think I played well on Sunday, despite the loss. I hope I keep my form up and can help my teammates return to winning ways and climb back up the ladder.”

What are your aims for the season?
“To do better than last year. It won’t be easy, but it could happen. We have to keep giving the maximum each and every game and develop this winning mentality. We need to win at home, whoever we play and get as many points as we can on the road to do better than last season.”
