Franco-Turkish striker Mevlut Erding has completed his move from Sochaux and signed a four-year-contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Check out his first exclusive interview.
Mevlut, here you are, a PSG player for the next four years!“I’m very proud to be sporting these colours. I’ve been dreaming of this moment for the last motnh. The negotiations were long and drawn out but now I’m happy t be at the Parc des Princes, to have finally signed my contract. My aim is to keep improving and score goals.”
What does PSG mean to you?
“This stadium, the supporters, the club colours, all that was an inspiration to me when I was a kid. It’s one of the reasons that I’m so happy today.”
After scoring 11 goals with Sochaux last season, have you set yourself a goal for the new campaign?
“No, I haven’t set a number in my mind. First of all I want to prepare well for the coming season. Obviously I’ll try and score a maximum of goals, but all that depends on my preseason.”
| Born at Saint-Claude in the Jura region, Mevlut Erding is a product of the FC Sochaux-Montbéliard youth academy, where he signed his first professional contract in 2006. A French-Turkish nationality holder, he made his international debut at 17yrs before taking part in Euro 2008 with Turkey. Last season he started 36 Ligue 1 matches for Sochaux, scoring 11 times. |
