Paul Le Guen (PSG coach)
“Obviously it’s a very important victory because comes just three days after the Cup elimination to Bordeaux. We bounced back with a really great match, real quality. We created a huge number of chances and scored four goals – but we could have scored more. Overall, it was a very satisfying evening. I’m very proud of my players and how they performed. I’m proud of the whole squad. Next weekend we host Saint-Etienne who also won tonight and will come to the Parc des Princes with plenty of ambition. We can count on our home fans. We saw against Bordeaux, even when we were struggling that they stayed right behind us. The fans have understood they we need their support if we’re to continue our battle for the top three or four.”
Mickaël Landreau (PSG goalkeeper)
“It’s a really great night. That was one of our best matches, one of our best displays this season. We had a host of opportunities and could even have won by more. In the first-half, we could have led by more but there was that penalty which almost relaunched the game. We showed great motivation and we also showed great spirit to bounce back after the midweek League Cup elimination. We showed great passion on the park on proudly defended our third place in the standings. It was also great that Ludo (Giuly) scored twice tonight.”
Jérôme Rothen (PSG midfielder)
“Collectively we played the same as every week, but individually, each player performed better. I’m really happy to be provisionally second, level with Bordeaux. We did everything we could in the Cup but it didn’t happen for us but we’ve turned the page now because our priority remains the championship. We’ve been on the right track since the start of the season, that was our third win in a row and we’re sticking with the leaders. If it continues like this we can aim high – and we’ll keep working towards that goal.”
