Stéphane, what made the difference on Sunday evening against Marseille?
“We knew that Marseille had plenty of quality in attack. We let them come forward, to be able to counterattack them better. I think we wanted it more. We conceded two goals, but I think we were still very solid at the back. We were able to have confidence in our defence which made it easier to push forward.”
How did you enjoy your first clasico?
“Great! I would have liked to have done even better, but we won which is the main thing. The atmosphere was good. We took advantage of the trip back in the plane to celebrate. Now we have to turn our attentions to the home game against Toulouse and build again on that performance in Marseille.”
Did you think Marseille tired late in the match?
It’s true that they played in the Champions League on Wednesday with more or less the same team. I would liked to have played in the UEFA Cup on Thursday against Schalke 04, but the coach decided to rotate the squad. We benefitted from that on Sunday against OM.”
What did you think of Guillaume Hoarau’s performance?
“I’ve known Guillaume since I first arrived in Paris and we’re getting along better and better. I always had confidence in his qualities. He’s arrived here from Ligue 2, so he needed a little time to adapt to Ligue 1. He showed on Sunday, and the earlier matches that he can offer the team a lot and score goals. It’s important for us to have a player like him, capable of scoring goals and winning games.”
How are you approaching the Toulouse game?
“We are very wary of Toulouse. The Toulouse squad has a lot of quality and are above us in the standings (5th). It’s going to be a tough game, but we’ll do everything we can to get the win.”
Sessegnon: “We wanted it more”
