Stéphane, Thursday’s scoreless draw against Kayserispor has permitted PSG to continue its run in the UEFA Cup...
“The objective for these first two matches was to qualify by getting a good result away and then securing the qualification at home... The return leg wasn’t easy, but the draw sees us through, which is all that counts. It’s my first European campaign so I’m delighted to have passed the first hurdle...”
Is it a worry that the team wasn’t able to score and make the tie safe earlier?
“Whether it is in the Cup or the league, we are creating chances but we’re just struggling to find the back of the net. It’s a shame, but the important thing is that we are still carving out opportunities to score, and sooner or later we’ll start scoring.”
Is everyone now focused on Sunday’s game with Nancy?
“Of course. It’s the last of a seven match run. It will be good to get some points before the break for the international matches. We are coming off two league losses and if we want to finish in the top half of the table we have to get a good result against Nancy. They are a hard to team to play against. We’ll have to be up for it and strong in every part of our game – in defence and attack.”
The internet users at PSG.FR voted you Player of the Month for September. What does that mean for you?
“Obviously it means a lot to me. I’m new to the club and am ambitious and want to play well. I’m happy to know that the fans are supporting me. When the fans are behind us, we can give our very best.”
