Record-setting Sirigu
Sunday night held many positives for Paris; on top of the three points, Salvatore Sirigu claimed the Paris Saint-Germain record for minutes played without conceding a goal, setting the bar at 775 minutes and counting...
On Sunday the Italian 'keeper surpassed Bernard Lama's record of 697 minutes without conceding, a benchmark set back in season 1996-97. "I tried not to think too much about the record, especially in a match as important as this. But I'm very happy tonight," declared the Italian after the win over Lille.
Salvatore Sirigu hasn't conceded a goal since the 35th minute of Paris SG - Rennes (2-1), on Novermber 17 last year (Week 13). The Ligue 1 record is held by Gaëtan Huard (Bordeaux), who went an impressive 1,176 minutes without conceding a goal back in season 1992-93.
